Tutorials Add or Remove Programs
Occasionally you will need to remove an existing version of a program when updating it, and install a totally new version, the correct way to do this is shown here. You might also want to do this when generally just cleaning up your computer or when trying to reclaim some hard drive space if your computer is getting old and perhaps running out of hard drive memory.
On a Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME computer click Start, Settings, click Control Panel.
On a Windows XP computer click Start, click Control Panel.
Then double click the Add or Remove Programs icon.

Click the program you want to remove, here I have chosen EasyCleaner.
Click the Remove button.
If asked if you want to completely remove the program, click Yes.
The program will then be instantly removed or a wizard might appear
which will guide you through the rest of the process.
If a wizard appears it will be similar to this.

Make sure you put a dot in the circle next to Remove, then click Next.

When the above confirmation box appears, click Yes.

The above screen shows the program being removed.

The program is now removed, click Finish.You could now look in the Program Files folder to see if there is a folder that relates to the program that was just uninstalled, if there is and you are absolutely sure that it is the right folder for that program and nothing else, then you can delete the folder.
